A Word of Encouragement
How can I have and exercise the true wisdom from God?
The vital answer is given in these verses!
James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you?
By his good life let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But
if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast
and be false to the truth. 15 This wisdom is not such as comes down
from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish. 16 For where
jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or
insincerity. 18 And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by
those who make peace. (RSV)
To exercise the true wisdom from God then I must do
the good works that he teaches me in the Bible, with the meekness that is power
under control! I must not be boastful, or be controlled by jealousy or selfish
ambition, for these are from the devil! I will remember that the true wisdom
from God comes from a pure heart and life! I must be one who seeks peace, and
is gentle, open to reason, full of compassion and goodness! I must do the will
of the Lord with the conviction that comes from continually studying the Word of
God to know what he wants me to be doing. And I must do so with an humble
spirit, from the heart, and without insincerity or hypocrisy. I will remember
that to exercise true righteousness I must do all of this in the spirit of
making peace with everyone, in every way that I can.
This message is dedicated to exercising this true
wisdom by joyfully doing the good works he commands us to do in the Bible with
humble and sincere hearts and spirits, seeking peace with one another and
others! As we do, we must avoid jealousy, selfish ambition and boasting, as
those attitudes are from the devil!
Don’t forget to pray!
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ
out loud, continually,
and rejoice in the Lord
always, REGARDLESS!
